A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan shares his concept for a paradoxical form of the Water-Type Eeveelution, Vaporeon, which they created.

A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Player shares his concept for a Paradox Vaporeon. Players love creating their own forms and variations of existing pocket monsters. This includes new regional forms for various Pokémon, as well as unique Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax forms.

A new form of pocket monsters that players have created their own versions of are Paradox Pokemon. Introduced in the ninth generation of the RPG series, these creatures are either past or future variants of existing Pokemon like Jigglypuff and Gallade. A player developed the Paradox form for one of the original 151 pocket monsters and gave it a futuristic makeover.

A Redditor named MDSM_art posted a drawing of his idea for a Paradox Vaporeon that would fit inside Pokemon Scarlet and Violet pretty good. The artist named his creation Iron Fins, giving the Water-Type a robotic look. The Pokémon retains many of Vaporeon’s traits, such as the yellow fins on its head and the spikes running along its tail. However, the pocket monster designed by MDSM_art looks like it is composed of steel plates and has purple LED eyes. The artist did a good job of keeping the characteristics of Vaporeon while still giving it the look of a machine.

MDSM_art asked the commenters what type of Iron Fins they thought they would be, and got a few mixed answers. A number of Reddit users chimed in, with the two most popular writing combinations being water/steel and water/electric. One player mentioned that the Pokemon could be Ice/Steel and could have an ability called Liquid Cooling that would make it resistant to Fire-type attacks. A number of players like MDSM_art’s idea for a Paradox Vaporeon and have great ideas for the pocket monster. Iron Fins is a great concept and easily fits in with the other futuristic creatures found within Pokemon Violet.

Iron Fins isn’t the only Paradox Pokémon that MDSM_art has evolved. The artist stated that they are currently working their way through all of the Eeveelutions and have already completed some of them. These include Glaceon, which was named Iron Frost, and Umbreon, which was named Iron Shadow. Aside from Eevee, MDSM_art seems to be making futuristic versions of the Eeveelutions, although that could change with the remaining Pokemon. The artist has done a good job so far and hopefully will be able to keep it up. Paradox Pokemon is an interesting concept and will hopefully expand when DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet falls in the future.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
